Q: You alway respond to my requests to call me by email, why is that?
A: The very nature of this job demands us to be out of the office a lot. When we return a call it is rare for the that we connect the first time so it can result in a lot of phone tag.
As well, most of the initial queries are about pricing and services so it is easier for us and the client to have the information in print (via email.)
Q: Why don't you offer Free Consultations?
A: Sadly there really isn't any such thing as a Free consultation. Who could afford to be in business if they gave away their services for free? Any decorating or design firm that offers free consultations is hoping to have you either buy furniture from trade-only firms where they receive the benefit of discount or they want to be engaged at an hourly rate.
If you see a design or decorating store that offers free consultations it is not hard to guess where they make the money.
There is nothing wrong with any of the above methods everyone has the right to make money, we just choose to be a little more transparent about things.
Q: $100.00 per hour seems expensive!
A: We are actually on the lower end of things, the median hourly rate is for designers and decorators is $120.00 and $300.00 is not uncommon. You are paying us for our education and or experience just as you would pay an accountant or lawyer.
Our prices are lower at Renouveau because we want to cater to a different audience, we want to offer concepts and solutions rather than full scale renos. The benefit to us is we can take on more projects and complete them in a shorter amount of time. The benefit to the customer is lower prices.
